Today I am supposed to encourage you to dare greatly. I am supposed to share how the courage to be vulnerable transforms the way we live, love, parent, and lead. (Brown) I am supposed to write a compelling From Head to Toe post about Brene Brown’s book, Daring Greatly.
But alas, I am not going to do that.
However, I am going to encourage you to do what I am going to do- make Brene Brown’s book, Daring Greatly the first book you read in the new year.
By the second sentence I realized this book was not something I needed to plow through. I need this message. The message that I am enough.
Despite that knowledge, I kept speed reading.
By the time I got to the fifth sentence, I realized that was an impossible task. This book is going to penetrate my heart deeply the first time around. There is no avoiding it. So, I gave in and decided to slow down, savor each word, and encourage you to read along with me.
This is my first exercise in daring greatly- being vulnerable and saying it’s OK, that I am enough.
For today, this is enough.
